chateau vaux le vicomte

It all started at the opera house. I met annie, brynn, and maddie for some fun.
Annie had gone to an atm where she put her card in, punched in her code, and went to select the amount she wanted and a band of more gypsy children stuff newspapers over the slots and she smacks a kid in the face. I'm so proud of her, and I wish I was there to witness.
Anyways, we wanted to get out of Paris, the plan was to go do something fun worthwhile and slightly spontaneous? Brynn had talked about Chantilly, but the train back was booked, so we'd have to walk.. not happenin.
So with the help of my mother, I researched a chateau right out of Paris, Vaux le Vicomte. baby versailles.
Got all the plans, train times, ticket prices, the whole she-bang. So I planned on doing that. Brynn and maddie bailed and decided to go find some other fun in our beautiful city so just me and annie hopped on the train. It took us like 40 minutes, not bad at all, and then we had to catch a shuttle bus to the chateau from the train station in Melun. We looked for where the bus was supposed to be but couldn't find the cafe I had written down that it'd be across from, so we went and asked the guy at the train station. He pointed outside and told us, how we didn't notice I have no idea, but we had thirty minutes to spare so we got some snacks.

It was kind of cold outside so we were just chillin in the station then decided to go walk around outside, why not?
We walk out the door and see a bus where our shuttle is supposed to be..
annie goes
"there's a bus there.."
".. it says chateaubus."
we start booking it to the bus. Running our souls out because the next one didn't come for two hours.
The bus starts moving, we start freaking, then it stops and the guy tells us he just needs a ten minute break, he was only re-parking. PHEW!
We are driving out to this place and the scenery out the window is absolutely beautiful. Green everywhere. So many trees. Then we drive through a tiny street lined with taaall tall trees, my favorite thing in the world.
The chateau was so pretty, way more than I was even expecting. We headed in, exchanged taking pictures of each other at everything, and went inside the chateau.

Gorgeous. More chandeliers, more amazing intricate wall details, paintings on the ceiling, oh and fake people..
They had fake people in like every single room, it was so random, and hilarious haha.

The grounds were amazing, I love things like this. I could walk around for days. But we only had a couple hours. It was so so green, which I adore. And they had hedges that looked so cool. It totally looked like a miniature versailles. And we later found out that it is indeed its predecessor. Cool, chouette.
Also, this place had a mote. You know, when castles have motes around them, everysingletime you build a sand castle it has a mote? This was real life, it was so cool.

{this was a pond/lake that showed the mirror image of the chateau even though it was way far away. It wasn't showing best that day, but still pretty fancy}

We climbed to the top of this hill at the other end of the chateau, that overlooks the property. Gorgeous. Me and annie found ourselves some good seats to sit and relax and just admire for a while..

We missed our first bus back to the train station, so we had to wait for the next one which was like forty minutes, no biggie. So we played in the gift shop for a little bit and got to go inside the carriage museum, where they had all the horses and buggy-s. It was interesting, more fake people.. And a man who smelled like rotten cheese.

We met some american girls who are studying architecture in versailles. Chouette.
Then we rode the bus &train back home. It was a nice visit, and just great to be able to get out of the city for a little while.
And it only cost 22 euro for the day.
