If you look real hard you can see the arc du triomphe between all those cogs. Loved this view. Esplanade de la defense.
My apartment is two stops away from la defense-Paris' miniture new york city. The business area of Paris. From my metro stop [Pont de Neuilly] you can look one way and you see the arc du triomphe, and then if you look the other way you see la defense. I'm right in the middle. Its an awesome place. Last wednesday I went on a paris walk that took me around la defense. I'd only been once, at night to watch a fireworks show, so I wanted to explore it. I didn't really follow the book and just went where I wanted because I was by myself. It was nice doing a walk alone so I could go anywhere I wanted, and stay somewhere as long as I wanted, and just see everything I wanted. This area is way cool. There's a ton of modern-esque art there, tons of sculptures and statues.

The 'grand arc' is at la defense, its like the arc du triomphe's modern twin. Its huge and its soo so cool.
One tip; Don't wear a long orange cheetah dress when you're walking around la defense alone. Obviously I looked amazing that day, but the constant stares I got from creepy old business men was not very appealing. . pretty scary actually. And I felt like I was followed by a chinese man on a bike who just happened to stop at every statue that I did..
Endives for dinner. I've never even heard of these but we've had them a couple of times with my lady. She boils them then this night she put slices of ham and tons of cheese on top and put them in the oven to broil for a while. They were amazing and the cheese was so delicious, especially the crispy parts. mmmm
